Akrapovič

Slip-on System with Optional Link Pipe (Collector)

Random Installation Pics

8/27/09 Blog: The folks on my e-mail list have been treated to an early view of the installation pictures. I sent a link to this page to them some time ago. They could check in as I added pictures to it. There are a few pictures on that page which are ready to post for general viewing. I am not happy with them and I need to take some better ones when it's not raining, but these will do for now.

What needs to be installed.

A PDF document that includes the part numbers (for ordering purposes) is here.

The extremely detailed 28 page installation instruction manual is here.

I was side tracked until this afternoon but I now have the old Cat Sass system off the bike. Gonna be a late night!

Re-using the stock clamp and gasket for the rear down tubes:

The old catalytic converters supports are also used.

They even thought about the side-stand and placed a nice bumper in the right place.

Installing the muffler.

I found out the Akrapovič muffler comes with two noise reducers which makes for three setups. The small, the large and my preferred setup - no noise reducer.

V-TUV103 Noise Reduction Inserts (Large)

Optional V-TUV104 Noise Reduction Inserts (Small and least sound output).

Removing the Noise Reducers

No Noise Reducer
